TogglePlanning a wedding at Fremont Foundry? Explore the rooftop views, glowing atrium, and Herban Feast catering that make this Seattle venue so special. If industrial spaces catch your eye, Fremont Foundry deserves a serious look. This building started as a metal foundry and artist commune. It’s the birthplace of Seattle’s iconic Jimi Hendrix statue. Today, a wedding at Fremont Foundry means three levels, a sweeping rooftop, a sky-lit atrium, and a courtyard garden. Catering comes courtesy of Herban Feast. There’s a lot to love here.

A wedding at Fremont Foundry gives you room to spread out. The venue spans over 12,000 square feet across three levels. Your rental includes all of it: the rooftop terrace, the penthouse, and the mezzanine. You also get the main atrium, the courtyard garden, and a getting-ready suite. You won’t choose between spaces. Instead, you’ll build a day that flows naturally through each one.
The main atrium anchors the reception. Picture 20-foot ceilings, exposed steel beams, and a skylight overhead. A mezzanine walkway wraps around the room, and a glass dance floor sits over a former smelting pit. Add string lights, and the whole space glows. This is one of my favorite reception rooms in Seattle. The light here is incredible, and you can get wonderfully creative with how you use it.
Meanwhile, the courtyard garden stays underrated. Tucked behind the main space and lined with bistro lights, it feels like a warm, urban oasis. It works beautifully for cocktail hour or as a gathering spot throughout the evening. I also love it for family portraits. It’s contained, well-lit, and offers a gorgeous backdrop without any extra travel.

The rooftop at Fremont Foundry is Seattle’s largest private rooftop deck. With 260-degree views of north Seattle, a wooden deck, a concrete patio, and string lights overhead, it’s genuinely spectacular.
My honest recommendation? Use the rooftop for your ceremony rather than saving it for cocktail hour alone. The natural light up there beats shooting indoors every time. Open sky, soft directional light, and a sweeping city backdrop make for stunning photos. Cocktail hour works beautifully up here too. Together, the two create an evening that feels expansive before guests head downstairs for dinner and dancing in the atrium.

You have real choices here. The rooftop remains my personal favorite, thanks to that incredible light. That said, the sky-lit atrium offers a genuinely beautiful indoor option. It seats up to 200 guests and brings striking architectural character. If the weather turns, you still get married in a stunning space. Plus, the venue can tent the rooftop, so you can stay outdoors even when the forecast looks shaky.

One major perk of choosing Fremont Foundry: the portrait situation. The Fremont waterfront sits nearby, so couples portraits won’t pull you away from your guests for long. A short walk brings you to the water. The Lake Union Ship Canal, the bridges, and the Fremont neighborhood frame the view. It’s distinctly Seattle, and it photographs beautifully.
Additionally, the on-site courtyard garden works perfectly for family formals. It’s contained and easy to manage, and nobody has to travel. That single detail makes the day’s logistics so much simpler.

Like SODO Park, Fremont Foundry works exclusively with Herban Feast for catering. Herban Feast sources fresh, seasonal ingredients from its sister property, Fox Hollow Farm. The food consistently ranks among the evening’s highlights, offering farm-to-table quality well beyond standard wedding fare. If you’ve attended a Herban Feast event before, you already know. If not, get ready for a genuinely great meal.

Capacity: Up to 225 seated guests, or 850 for a standing reception.
Starting Price: Peak-season rental starts at $5,500–$10,500, depending on the day and time. Food and beverage minimums range from $6,000–$14,000. Rental includes 10 hours of venue access. You also get tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, and linens.
Tip: Book your ceremony on the rooftop when weather allows. The light up there sits in a different league than indoor shooting. The views alone create ceremony photos that feel cinematic. Save the atrium for your reception, and let the string lights and dance floor take over after dark.
Yes, especially for couples who want a creative, flexible space with real character. The rooftop, atrium, courtyard garden, and Herban Feast catering combine into one of Seattle’s most well-rounded venues. Couples consistently mention how much space they have and how smoothly the day moves between levels.

Up to 225 guests fit a seated reception, and 200 fit a ceremony. The standing reception capacity reaches 850 guests across all three floors. Few Seattle venues offer this much flexibility in scale. It suits an intimate seated dinner just as well as a much larger crowd.
Your rental covers all three levels: the rooftop terrace, the penthouse, and the second-floor mezzanine. It also includes the main atrium, the courtyard garden, and the getting-ready suite. You get every space at once, so you can shape your event flow however you like.
If weather doesn’t cooperate, the sky-lit atrium serves as a beautiful indoor backup, seating up to 200 guests. The venue can also tent the rooftop so you can stay outside in less predictable weather. Both options deliver a genuinely stunning space for your wedding at Fremont Foundry.
Worth noting: LTD Bar and Grille next door hosts outdoor concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings each summer. These usually start around 6 pm. The venue recommends wrapping your ceremony before the music begins. Once cocktail hour and the reception start, your own music tends to drown it out anyway.
The first floor is fully wheelchair-accessible, with ramps at the main entrances. It also has ADA-accessible restrooms and hearing-impaired fire alarm lights. An exterior service elevator also serves the building. However, the rooftop and third-floor penthouse are reachable only by stairs, which matters for guests with mobility needs.
Yes, pets are welcome during photos and the ceremony. They need to head home before food service begins, though. Service animals remain welcome throughout the entire event.
The Fremont waterfront sits just steps away, letting you step out for portraits without losing meaningful time with guests. The on-site courtyard garden also works beautifully for family formals. For more variety, consider Gas Works Park, the Lake Union Ship Canal, and the surrounding Fremont neighborhood. All three make gorgeous portrait locations within a short drive.
