Hot Springs Engagement Session with R and M
Over the summer, R and M took their engagement session to the next level by planning for Goldmyer Hot Springs. They secured a spot through the lottery system and geared up for an experience that was rewarding and challenging.
The hike to Goldmyer Hot Springs is an uphill climb that stretches for several miles. To make the journey easier, we brought bikes along. I opted for an electric mountain bike, which made tackling the hill a lot more manageable. R and M, in far better shape than I am, handled the trek with ease. It’s clear they’re no strangers to outdoor adventures. In fact, M recently bought an old Japanese fire truck and converted it into a camping rig. They brought it along for the session, and we made sure to capture some shots with it.
Once we arrived at the springs, we took a quick break to refuel before eventually heading up to the springs. Our first stop was a cold spring—a refreshing plunge after the exertion of the hike. After cooling off, we then made our way to the hot springs, where the warm water was indeed a welcome relief.
The bike ride back down was much more fun, though M did get a flat tire! We were prepared though so it didn’t dampen the experience. The day was a success, and I’d love to go back and do it again.
If you’re thinking about a hot springs engagement session, I’d recommend renting e-bikes for the ride. The trail is tough, and the extra help can make a big difference. You’ll also need a vehicle with high clearance and 4WD to reach the trailhead—thankfully, M’s fire truck was up to the task.
If this sounds like your kind of adventure, get in touch. Let’s plan something unique. For more ideas, check out this Gold Creek Pond engagement session.
