A Sun-Filled Surprise Proposal on a Washington State Ferry
Johnny already knew he wanted to propose on the ferry when he started planning a surprise for Alyssa. They were flying into Seattle from out of state for a trip together, and he thought popping the question on the water — with the skyline behind them — would be unforgettable. While researching how to pull it off, he came across my last proposal on the Washington State ferry blog post. Perfect timing. He reached out right away, and we started planning.
He chose the Bainbridge Island ferry for their ride from Seattle, which gave us the perfect backdrop of the city for the moment he dropped to one knee. We timed the proposal for early in the ride so they could soak it all in afterward — and we seriously lucked out with the weather. It was one of those rare clear, sunny Seattle days, and not only could we see the skyline, but Mount Rainier showed up in all its glory too.
