Windy Engagement Session at Discovery Park

I must say, there’s something truly magical about capturing love amid nature’s unpredictable elements. And that’s precisely what happened during this windy sunrise engagement session at Discovery Park. Discovery Park in Seattle makes the perfect backdrop for a fall engagement session. The rugged coastline and iconic lighthouse provide the ideal blend of natural beauty and urban charm.

The day began early as we braved the chilly morning air. Originally planning for a later session, the weather forecast of rain caused us to move the session to sunrise. As we approached the lighthouse, the wind greeted us with a force that seemed determined to make its presence known. Although the wind whipped through our hair and rustled the leaves on nearby trees, we welcomed it. It created a blistery rush that added to the excitement and energy of the moment.

Although the wind brought a chill that left our cheeks rosy, it didn’t dampen the session or the photographs. Wrapped in each other’s arms, they found warmth and comfort amidst blustery conditions. Their love radiated through every pose, their genuine connection captured in the photographs. Despite being quite chilly, they gave off a certain warmth.

The changing weather had thrown a few challenges our way. Raindrops flirted with the idea of joining us throughout the session but graciously held back until we wrapped things up. One of my favorite aspects of this engagement session was the wind itself. It added a touch of whimsy and ethereal beauty. The bride-to-be’s hair danced in harmony with the breeze. I love how her hair creates a windswept look that enhances the movement in the photographs.

While the risk of rain may have caused us to transition our plans, it was worth it. This engagement session reminds me of the power of nature; the unpredictability of the weather, and the beauty that can emerge from embracing both. It speaks to the resilience of love and reminds us that the best experiences can come from allowing ourselves to take risks.
