As a wedding photographer, I love capturing moments of love and intimacy between couples. And what better way to do that than with some rainy film engagement photos at Alki Beach? Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a couple on a rainy, cloudy day at Alki Beach in West Seattle. Despite the weather, we had an amazing time together.
Once we arrived at Alki Beach, the city of Seattle’s skyline was visible through a haze, creating a moody and romantic backdrop for the shoot. We started by walking down the pier, taking in the breathtaking views of the city and the water. The waves added a peaceful sound to the location’s ambiance.

As we made our way down to the beach, the rain started to pick up, but this couple was up for anything. They didn’t mind getting wet and embraced the opportunity to cuddle close for the session. The rain only added to the romantic atmosphere and made the photos even more beautiful.
I was particularly excited about the opportunity to shoot some film. I used Portra 400 and Portra 800 film to capture the couple’s intimate moments. There’s something special about film’s timeless quality that perfectly complements the mood and feel of the shoot. Mixing in film engagement photos adds a sense of nostalgia and fun!

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to capture such beautiful moments of love. Despite the weather, we captured some stunning shots, thanks to this couple’s willingness to let go and embrace the moment.
Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying introducing film into my engagement sessions. The film’s unique look and feel perfectly capture the intimate and romantic moments of these special shoots. I’m looking forward to more engagement sessions at Alki Beach in the future, rain or shine.
