Summer Engagement Session at Carkeek Park
I always love a Seattle engagement session! Recently, I had the pleasure of taking a quick trip down to Carkeek Park with Michelle, Paul, and their adorable pup. Before we headed to Carkeek Park, we stopped in Ballard for a few main street moments. Once we got to the park, the sunset was perfect. The night was surprisingly warm, and the conditions created the most beautiful golden haze in the photos. Seattle excels at providing diverse parks and breathtaking views, making it ideal for engagement sessions.
When we visited Carkeek Park, the road to the parking lot was closed due to COVID-19 restrictions (though I believe it’s open now). Consequently, we parked in the neighboring area and walked the steep downward hill. Walking down was a breeze, but the return trip was not (haha). I realized how long it had been since I had gone hiking or done any substantial exercise. At least it’s not as challenging as the stairs at Golden Gardens—if you know, you know!
The approaching spring weather has motivated me to start hiking at least once a week. In fact, I’m now on a three-week streak, managing two hikes per week, and I fully intend to keep it up. However, I would love to hear your suggestions for great hiking spots!
Back to the engagement session at Carkeek Park—this location offers so much more than just beautiful scenery. The lush trails provided a stunning backdrop for candid moments. Additionally, the beach setting was ideal for capturing the couple’s joy as they popped a bottle of champagne and shared a toast. The golden hour light perfectly illuminated their happiness, making each shot a photographer’s dream.
Once sunset began, the sky transformed into a canvas of deep oranges and pinks. These mesmerizing colors marked the end of a perfect engagement shoot. Capturing such genuine love and happiness during this engagement session at Carkeek Park was an unforgettable experience.
